Growing with the GARD Lab
Growing with the GARD Lab is a STEM outreach program designed to help broaden youth engagement with science through fun activities including brain trivia, games, outdoor exercises, and group conversations.

Past events!

RARE Project
RECRUITMENT CLOSED. This project is a partnership between community members and researchers at the University of Maryland, College Park. The goal of the project is to increase representation of individuals from marginalized backgrounds in biosocial research and include communities of color in the decision-making process.

Youth Research Internship Program
RECRUITMENT CLOSED. We recruited 6-8 students to participate in a 7-week (approx. 10hr per week) science research internship. Interns collected data on neighborhood quality, and heart rate data using Fitbits. Participants learned how to analyze data and present results to your community about how environmental quality impacts health and wellbeing. Students received $975 in compensation.
